Your vacation home is clean and full of bright natural light with the amenities of a hotel but the feel of home, and just minutes from Lackland AFB and all San Antonio has to offer. It's a large (1915 sq. ft.) and recently renovated 4 bedroom, 1 bath home that is entirely yours! There's plenty of space for the whole family. Completely modernized featuring 100mbps Wifi to connect all your devices, and central Heating/AC. Out back is large shaded patio, backyard and small BBQ grill to enjoy.
The Space:
Staying at Gateway Casita is just like staying at home, even though you're away from home visiting a city full of things to do! This house is in a very quiet subdivision but at the same time, it's very close to just about anything you'd like to experience in San Antonio and only minutes from the front gate at Lackland AFB where new Airmen graduate weekly from Basic Military Training (BMT). The house is large and will easily accommodate you and your family. People have told us, and we're sure you'll agree, it's clean and very roomy. You only pay for the space you need. For the price, it's quite a value, and you'll find that you have a much nicer stay than any hotel, but you're not sacrificing any of the amenities you'd have with a hotel... and you don't have to worry about the noisy people in the next room!
The entire house is a single level, three of the four bedrooms are easily accessible with no steps (there's only one step down into the fourth bedroom) and all are comfortably furnished with queen-sized beds featuring pillow top mattresses for a cozy night's sleep. The sofa is an easy to set up queen-sized bed in the living room.
When you'd like to freshen up, the bathroom has a newly tiled shower and thick, fluffy, super soft, oversized towels and soaps, shampoo/conditioner.
There is plenty of space to relax and lounge in your home away from home. It has an open floor plan and separate dining area. Please look through the pictures.
The family area has a large couch that's also a queen-sized sofa bed. There's also love seat and oversized ottoman, a 32" flat panel TV with digital antenna to support local channels and free Netflix. If you travel with your own entertainment, it fully supports connecting a Firestick or other devices via HDMI and USB.
Your kitchen is perfect and completely appointed for the family 'master chef' with granite counter tops, refrigerator, gas range/oven, microwave... and all the necessary cooking and dining utensils, coffee maker, plates, glasses, etc.
There's also a fully stocked laundry room off the back patio in case you need to take care of a quick load of laundry.
For those that enjoy the fresh air, the back yard is large and shaded with a pergola covered patio. Parking is safe and free. Your home has a driveway that can accommodate two cars and street side parking is allowed in the neighborhood.
Here's the part you're going to love! You're only 5 minutes from the front gate at Lackland AFB. So no need to rush to beat the traffic for those BMT graduation events. You can find a complete schedule here - http://afwm.org/grad-info/bmt-schedule-of-events/. SeaWorld is only a short 10 minute drive with Six Flags Fiesta Texas only another 10 minutes further. The interchange between Loop 410, the inner ring road, and Highway 90 is less than a mile down the road (although you'd never know it) and it will take you to Lackland and beyond to the downtown area where the Riverwalk, the Alamo, and other 'touristy' attractions are (only about a 20 minute trip by car). I challenge you to name a city where you aren't actually staying downtown but can get there in 20 minutes or less regardless of traffic. The San Antonio International Airport is only slightly further but an easy drive straight down Loop 410 heading north/east.
If Gateway Casita is available on dates you're looking at, grab that booking fast! Open dates do not last long. We're one of the closest vacation rentals to Lackland and with graduations every week we stay full.

This is in a very safe neighborhood and just a short drive to food!
Guest Access:
If you reserve this listing, you will have the entire home to yourself and full use of it 24 hours a day. You can come and go as you like. There's an electronic lock, so there are no keys for you to keep up with or worry about losing! Even though there's only bed space for 1 to 12 guests, there is plenty of room for additional floor or blow up mattresses.... and you can always have someone bring a sleeping bag to hit the floor if you have more guests than we have beds! Free WiFi, Netflix.
Interaction with Guests:
It's likely you won't see me during your stay, which allows you more privacy and convenience. However, I'm here anytime you need to reach out. If you need anything or have questions, just send me a message and I'll be quick to respond.
The Neighborhood:
This is a quiet subdivision; however, it's still very close to the very best San Antonio has to offer. Less than a mile away you'll arrive at the start of a shopping center that includes restaurants for all taste buds: Rome's Pizza, Taste of India, McAlister's Deli, Buffalo Wild Wings, Twin Peaks, Carrabba's and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Welcome to your home away from home.
Getting Around:
Taxis are available anytime and cost about $35 to get anywhere else in town. I prefer Uber, which is a private driver service. You'll find information when you arrive for a free $20 first ride! Also, the public bus stops just a few houses down the street - every 30 minutes during peak hours. Enjoy your stay!

*Please note: One night stays are only valid for Sunday through Thursday nights, weekends are a minimum of two nights.
Check in is via keyless electronic lock, so it can be as late as you need.
Lost and found: If you leave an item during your stay, we will be happy to mail it to you, but there is a $10 charge for shipping and handling by our housekeeping staff.
